Construction of functional porphyrin polystyrene nano-architectures by ATRP.
A series of mono-functionalized metallo-porphyrin polystyrenes have been synthesized using atom transfer radical polymerization and their self-assembling behavior was studied by electron microscopy showing that the polystyrene tail-length influences the aggregate architecture.

A new efficient strategy of a zinc porphyrin based yoctowell cavity as a receptor for the formation of stable inclusion complexes of fullerenes via pi-electronic donor-acceptor and hydrophobic interactions, and finally anionic porphyrin used as a cover to the wells.

The development of well-controlled synthetic schemes for growing polymer brushes directly from surfaces has recently enabled very high polymer grafting densities to be explored. Here, we report on the structure of polystyrene brushes as a function of molecular weight. The brushes were prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) at a high grafting density of 0.44 chains/nm. The dry f...
متن کاملMolecular porphyrin – fullerene architectures *
This article describes the utilization of porphyrin and fullerene architectures— yielding artificial light-harvesting antenna and reaction center mimics—to tune the electronic coupling element between electron donor and electron acceptor and ultimately to affect the total reorganization energy. Most importantly, the effects that these parameters have on the rate, yield, and lifetime of the ener...
متن کاملMulti-Functional Magnetic Photoluminescent Photocatalytic Polystyrene-Based Micro- and Nano-Fibers Obtained by Electrospinning
This work reports on the implementation of electrospinning (ES) as a facile route to encapsulate nano-engineered materials in a polystyrene (PS) matrix. We applied ES to co-encapsulate two kinds of nanoparticles, i.e., upconversion nanophosphors (UCNPs) and superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs), in polystyrene (PS)-based microand nano-fibers (PSFs). This approach made it possible ...
